Instruction

Instruction in meditation practice is useful to beginners and experienced practitioners alike. In addition to the periodic retreats that are available in the city, given by leading North American teachers, we are blessed in the city by the availability of regular opportunities to obtain instruction.

This 8 week class incorporates Jon Kabat-Zinn's mindfulness based stress reduction program.  It is an introduction to meditation and is also suitable for experienced practitioners who wish to deepen their practice.

Being Bodies: Making Peace With Our Bodies, Food and Through Meditation
Many women believe that there is something fundamentally wrong with themselves and with their bodies. Being Bodies focuses on transforming this belief through meditative, reflective, and interpersonal practices. Rather than being at war with ourselves - impatient, critical and punishing, we will cultivate being curious, open and kind - making peace with ourselves.

Mondays, 7:15 pm-8:45 pm beginning January 9, 2012.  $150 / 8 sessions

Open Mind Wise Heart: Mindfulness Meditation in Practice
The practice of mindfulness can be transformative for both emotional and physical issues. Based on Jon Kabat-Zinn's renowned Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction Program, this course includes meditation instruction, support for establishing a daily practice, (including a CD and handouts), inquiry exercises to enhance awareness, discussion and home assignments.
Tuesdays, 7:15 pm-8:45pm beginning January 10. $150 / 8 sessions
